Biomethan Centre Study
Biomethane
This biomethane project was an innovation in itself because of its scope and complexity. The team introduced the idea of integrating some of the city’s existing installations into the project to reduce construction costs and facilitate energy recovery. The study of multiple scenarios through a value analysis and a economic evaluation allowed to quickly identify the favourable paths for the project. A pragmatic approach made it possible to direct the water treatment component toward a partial treatment to facilitate the release to the existing treatment plant. The client was supported by the team’s professionals in discussions with the Quebec Environment Ministry (MELCC) to facilitate the acceptance of the project and this, from the preparatory studies stage.
The facility will have a total capacity of roughly 180,000 tons/year.
