Due diligence – Biomass cogeneration plant

Waste to Power with Heat Recovery

Forest biomass

The project consisted in the due diligence of the conversion of an oil boiler to a forest biomass cogeneration plant with an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) for an autonomous network in Northern Quebec, serving an isolated community not connected to the province’s grid.

The due diligence was carried out in accordance with the good practices contained in the Business case due diligence guide for major public infrastructure projects, as prepared by the Quebec Treasury Board.

This transition would represent a reduction of 5,375 tonnes of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions per year.
