Implementation of the Rapibus, the first Bus Rapid Transit in Quebec

Norda Stelo produced the preliminary studies and the plans and specifications, and supervised construction for the implementation of the Rapibus, the first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system with a dedicated lane in Quebec.
Highlights
- A path of more than 15 km, connecting the Gatineau sector to the downtowns of Ottawa and Hull
- Annual decrease of almost 3 000 tons of greenhouse gas
- Many stakeholders involved including the Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO), the City of Gatineau, the Ministry of Transports of Québec (MTMDET), the NCC, the Quebec-Gatineau railway company, the Outaouais railway company, public utility companies and all other institutions concerned (among which the Ministry of Environment of Quebec)
- A first in Quebec in terms of rail/bus cohabitation on the same corridor
