An introduction to Asset Management – IAM Foundation Award

The Institute of Asset Management (IAM) Foundation Award is an introductory asset management awareness training.

This introductory training in Asset Management is intended to give a practical and technical content based on the best practices in the field and the ISO 55000 standards as promoted by the Institute of Asset Management.

For who?

There are no pre-requisites for taking the Foundation Award – anyone interested in learning the basics in Asset Management can register.

How?

Register for having the opportunity to listen and watch 4 competent trainers walk you through the basics of Asset Management.

When?

Enter the platform whenever you have time! You will have a maximum of 30 days to complete the training and the knowledge test to get your Foundation Award.

What?

This online course consists in 4 modules of approximately 30 minutes each that you can either watch or listen at your convenience. You will be provided with a document of the essential notions to print out.

A knowledge test ends the training and upon successful completion, attendee will be granted an IAM Foundation Award Certificate. The participant has 1 trial to successfully complete the test.

Course Instructors

Justine Bilodeau Justine Bilodeau CEP, B. Eng. Asset Management Advisor

Justine Bilodeau holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Laval University. As an advisor in asset management Justine brings her knowledge in business and industrial process optimization. She is a certified professional from the Institute of Asset Management and a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. Justine has contributed to the analysis of major reports in terms of asset maintenance plan or maturity analysis. She has good skills in data collection for the analysis of work methods and time and motion, in the application of Japanese continuous improvement techniques (5S, Kaizen), in the calculation of labor requirements and procurement. She is currently pursuing a Specialized Graduate Diploma (DESS) in Business Administration.

Pierre-Louis Beaulieu-Bellemare is a Senior Asset Management Advisor with a diversified experience in production and operations management, project management and asset management. Having work for major organisations in the public and private sectors, Pierre-Louis understands the challenges relevant to information strategy throughout an organisation to enhance decision-making. He strongly supports the integration of asset management in such organisations to break down silos between departments and align strategies providing a higher level of service to clients.

Bernard Gaudreault Bernard Gaudreault AMP, Principal Senior Asset Management Advisor

Bernard Gaudreault has 20 years of experience in the field of asset management and co-founded PLANIFIKA in 2005. He specializes in the development and implementation of effective asset management strategies and plans. He also supports his clients in the management of organizational change and offers personalized coaching to leaders who will have to embody change in the implementation of an asset management system. Mr. Gaudreault is a member of the Board and the Executive Committee of the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) of Canada to promote knowledge and best practices in asset management. He also serves on the Council of the IAM headquarters in England where he was elected in Edinburgh in June 2016 as the first Canadian.

Sylvie Boulanger Sylvie Boulanger Ph.D. Eng., Principal Senior Asset Management Advisor

Sylvie has over 30 years of experience in strategic planning, engineering, construction, business development, research and training. She has held management and technical positions as director of a national association, vice-president of a specialized contractor and senior director with a crown corporation. Sylvie Boulanger obtained her civil engineering degree at the University of Alberta, a master’s degree in structural engineering from the University of California (Berkeley), and a doctorate in steel construction at EPFL (Switzerland). Ms. Boulanger is a member of the IAM – Institute of Asset Management. She also participates in the development of national and international standards.
